Chromosomes reach the opposite ends of the cell.
The cell pinches in and the membrane begins dividing atthe cleavage furrow in a process called cytokinesis. At this
point, the spindle fibers have released the chromosomes.
After cytokinesis, the cell may go through interkenisis, a
short process similar to interphase. During interkinesis,
the chromosomes ARE NOT duplicated. By the end of
telophase, two haploid cells are formed.

In plants, a cell plate will form in the middle of the cell
and a cell wall will form along the cell plate.
